The seam is the work.
Most software companies ship seams. The seam is the boundary between what you bought and what you got. The seam is the integration tax. The seam is the upgrade treadmill. The seam is the vendor lock-in. The seam is the audit gap. The seam is the operator's daily reality: a stack of point solutions, each with its own auth scheme, each with its own data model, each with its own pricing model, each with its own compliance posture.
VZU is built to end the seam. The seam is the work — for the customer, for the operator, for the regulator. VZU's product is a single runtime. The runtime is the brief, the work, the audit trail. VZU is short for Virtual Zero Unbound. Virtual Zero is the operator's minimum viable state: zero overhead, zero lock-in, zero seams. Unbound is the operator's posture: not bound to a vendor, not bound to a region, not bound to a model. The seam is the work. VZU ends the seam.

Chapter 03 · The runtime
The runtime is the operator.
The VZU runtime is a multi-agent operating system. Twelve agents, three orchestration patterns, MCP-native integrations. Each agent has a purpose. Each agent has a toolset. Each agent has an audit posture. The orchestrator sits at the center. The orchestrator receives the brief. The orchestrator decomposes the brief. The orchestrator routes the work. The orchestrator observes the work. The orchestrator ships the work.
The runtime ships in your region. Cloud, hybrid, or air-gapped on-prem. The runtime is your data, your model, your audit trail. The runtime is not VZU's runtime — the runtime is the operator's runtime, deployed on the operator's infrastructure, governed by the operator's policies, audited by the operator's regulator.
VZU is not a SaaS. VZU is a runtime operator. VZU deploys the runtime. VZU maintains the runtime. VZU briefs the agents. VZU does the work. But the runtime is the operator's. The audit trail is the regulator's form.
Every VZU run produces an audit trail. The audit trail is the regulator's form. The audit trail is the operator's record. The audit trail is the work's record. The audit trail includes: who (the agent, the operator, the user), what (the action, the result, the side effects), when (the timestamp, the duration, the order), why (the agent's reasoning, the operator's intent, the user's prompt), with which model, against which data, with which result. The audit trail is queryable. The audit trail is replayable. The audit trail is the regulator's form.
